In August 2019, NSIDC discovered large gaps in the 2018 F18 brightness temperature record. These data gaps occurred between 11 February - 13 March and 30 September - 31 October. They affected data in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. In January 2020, the missing data were recovered and reprocessed.

NSIDC is excited to bring your attention to the Cryospheric Sciences with ICESat-2 Hack Week, June 15-19, 2020, on the University of Washington campus. Visit the website https://icesat-2hackweek.github.io/ for details on how to apply. From the ICESat-2 Hack Week Organizers: Join us for five days of tutorials, data exploration, software development and community networking focused on open source tools to analyze and visualize ICESat-2 data for cryospheric applications.
