On October 5, 2020 MODIS Terra experienced a Printed Wire Assemblies (PWA) failure. This failure caused partial to full science data loss where the data could not be played back because of recording on the faulty PWA. The Flight Operations Team have decided to change the day/night coverage ratio from current 50/50 to 44.2/55.8 to minimize the overflow of onboard buffers. Due to this change there is an observed reduction and irregularity in the overall Terra daytime coverage, particularly over high latitudes.
