The NASA ABoVE LVIS L2 Geolocated Surface Elevation Product data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) from 29 June 2017 to 17 July 2017. This data set contains surface elevation measurements over Alaska and Western Canada taken from the NASA Land, Vegetation, and Ice Sensor (LVIS). The data were collected as part of NASA's Terrestrial Ecology Program campaign, the Arctic-Boreal Vulnerability Experiment (ABoVE).
The NASA ABoVE LVIS L1B Geolocated Return Energy Waveforms data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) from 29 June 2017 to 17 July 2017. This data set contains laser altimetry return energy waveform measurements over Alaska and Western Canada taken from the NASA Land, Vegetation, and Ice Sensor (LVIS). The data were collected as part of NASA's Terrestrial Ecology Program campaign, the Arctic-Boreal Vulnerability Experiment (ABoVE).

The Application for Extracting and Exploring Analysis Ready Samples (AppEEARS) now includes Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) data products distributed by the National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). AppEEARS offers a simple and efficient way to subset SMAP data sets using spatial, temporal, and layer parameters for both point and area samples.

NOAA@NSIDC is pleased to announce that the International Ice Patrol (IIP) has updated their Iceberg Sightings Database through the 2017 iceberg season. The IIP has been collecting information on iceberg activity in the North Atlantic since 1913, and this database contains data from these sightings starting in 1960. The IIP data files include latitude and longitude of sighted icebergs, coded iceberg size and shape class, and date and time of the sighting.
Version 2 of the Near-Real-Time DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS Pathfinder Daily EASE-Grid Brightness Temperatures data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). The change from Version 1 to Version 2 follows a switch in the SSMIS processing stream from the DMSP-F17 satellite to the DMSP-F18 satellite. Data set DOI: https://doi.org/10.5067/K7VT6D6Y2SO6

Version 2 of the MEaSUREs MODIS Mosaic of Greenland (MOG) 2005, 2010, and 2015 Image Maps data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). Version 2 includes Mosaic of Greenland 2010 and 2015 (MOG2010 and MOG2015) data, in addition to the MOG2005 data. NOAA@NSIDC is pleased to announce the release of On-Ice Arctic Sea Ice Thickness Measurements by Auger, Core, and Electromagnetic Induction, From the Fram Expedition Onward. In addition to sea ice thickness, the data set provides sea ice freeboard and snow depth on sea ice from in situ measurements taken primarily using auger, coring devices, and electromagnetic (EM) sounding. When available, ice type is also included.
