Reprocessed NASA IceBridge Sea Ice Freeboard, Snow Depth, and Thickness Arctic data are now available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). The IceBridge L4 Sea Ice Freeboard, Snow Depth, and Thickness (IDCSI4) product is informally regarded as Version 2 of the IceBridge Sea Ice Freeboard, Snow Depth, and Thickness (IDCSI2) product. Adding L4 (Level-4) to the data set name more accurately represents the data processing level. Currently, the reprocessed L4 data include Arctic campaigns from 2009 to 2012.
Due to a power failure on the Satélite de Aplicaciones Científicas (SAC)-D spacecraft on 08 June 2015, data from NASA’s Aquarius instrument are no longer being produced. For more information on this event, please refer to the official NASA announcement.

The NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) is pleased to announce that users can now obtain Version 6 (Collection 6) MODIS sea ice data.
The MODIS Version 6 sea ice extent and ice surface temperature algorithms and products are the same as Version 5; however, Version 6 updates to algorithm inputs—in particular, the L1B calibrated radiances, land and water mask, and cloud mask products—have improved the sea ice outputs. For information about forward and reprocessing schedules, see MODIS collection.
