The MEaSUREs Greenland Ice Mapping Project (GrIMP) Digital Elevation Model from GeoEye and WorldView Imagery, Version 2 data set, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated to Version 2.
This data set is part of the NASA Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) program. In addition to in-track image pairs from GeoEye and WorldView imagery, cross-track images were also used in this latest release to generate the DEMs. The mosaicking algorithm was revised to utilize the large increase in available DEM data since Version 1. The DEMs were registered to ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3A Land Ice Height, Version 5 (ATL06, V5) data collected in the summers of 2019 and 2020. This release only includes a single DEM created from all available data (i.e., no “fit”, “reg”, or quarterly DEMs provided). The data set now spans from 15 May 2008 to 19 November 2020.
