The SnowEx20 Grand Mesa IOP UNM 800 and 1600 MHz MALA GPR, Version 1 and SnowEx20 Jemez UNM 800 MHz MALA GPR, Version 1 data sets contain the results of ground penetrating radar (GPR) surveys conducted at Grand Mesa, Colorado and Jemez, New Mexico, respectively, during the SnowEx20 campaign. The main parameters in this data set are two-way travel time, snow depth and snow water equivalent (SWE). The data were collected between using a MALA Geosciences GPR unit with a 800 MHz and 1600 MHz antenna, and data were logged approximately every 0.1 seconds. The Grand Mesa data were collected between 28 January 2020 and 6 February 2020 and the Jemez data were collected between 22 January 2020 and 4 March 2020.
The SnowEx20 Grand Mesa In Situ Dielectric Soil Moisture, Version 1 data set consists of soil moisture and soil temperature measurements from three different depths (5, 10 and 20 cm) at ten different sites, taken during the the SnowEx20 field campaign in Grand Mesa. The data set spans 24 September 2019 to 3 June 2020 and data were logged every hour.
The SnowEx20 Grand Mesa Autumn 2019 Snow Water Equivalent, Version 1 data set contains snow depth, snow density and SWE measurements obtained from samples collected in the vicinity of snow pit locations as part of the SnowEx20 campaign in Grand Mesa, Colorado. The measurements were collected between 3 and 6 November 2019 using SWE samplers.
The SnowEx20 Grand Mesa Autumn 2019 Gravimetric Soil Moisture, Version 1 data set contains gravimetric soil moisture measurements obtained from soil samples that were collected between 4 and 6 November 2019, as part of the SnowEx20 campaign in Grand Mesa, Colorado. A total of 77 soil samples were taken at snow pit locations, soil moisture stations, and other areas where both the model and stationary cosmic-ray Soil Moisture Observing Systems (COSMOS) operated. The soil samples were processed at the Fraser Experimental Forest laboratory.
