NASA has selected the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) to manage and distribute data for the IceBridge project, which will run from 2009 to 2015. Operation IceBridge is a six-year NASA field campaign that will provide three-dimensional
NSIDC and NASA data scientists proved the use of 21st-century techniques to revive data from 1960s satellites.
NSIDC began when the World Data Center for Glaciology moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1976. NSIDC subsequently earned support from NOAA, NASA, and the NSF.
